Found a nice spot just south of Upper Peppermint dispersed camping area for our 4th of July trip. Just 2 minutes walk to a nice hangout spot on the creek and about 20 minutes drive to the trail head for the Needle Rock Outpost hike.
Moved our son and his girlfriend out to Colorado so we finally got to head west in the van. We spent three weeks on and off the road camping in Rocky Mountain National Park and Independence Pass area great time. We left the van out there for the kids and are heading back out in September to head up to the Tetons areas and then maybe up into Canada and over to BC. Here are some pictures of our campsite. Can’t wait to get back out.
Lovely site with big views about 30 miles east of Great Basin NP, in Utah north of Hwy 50, the "loneliest highway in America". Gotta love BLM boondocking! The sun had just come back out after an epic thunder and lightening storm and the lighting was ethereal.
