Re: Post your campsite pics!

That tent looks cool. Talk about room. Can you drive out from under it?

Also are those large butane tanks under your table or propane? I like that little two burner stove as well.

Dave.

Re: Post your campsite pics!

Hi daveb,

Yes it is pretty cool and you can drive out no problem... although I don't because I have a small rope to the roof rack in the center to give slight upward tension to allow rain to flow off correctly...

Those are butane tanks I use for the stove they give good autonomy I plan to use these for a fridge in the future too... but that will be probably when I redesign the interior of my van...

The stove is the (over here) cheapo basic, it cooks really well, better than my home cooker which is electric... although this won't be enough to persuade Mrs Saabman to move into the van permanently

One of my favorites from this summer, at the old homestead cabin (and oldest building) on San Juan Island, WA. The view from inside the van is across Haro Straight into Canada.

As you can see from some of the pictures, we sleep in the vehicle and used it for about 20 years before I sold it last fall. It looked just like the pictures (no rust) when I sold it. My wife found me a Chevrolet Express van that I spent the winter converting into a camper van. It is not a four wheel drive, so I am not a true SMB-er but I am getting closer with the van.

There are a lot of folks here with different type vehicles and all are welcome. Good luck on your future build.
