In Washington State you can "defer" a single traffic offense every 7 years, meaning if you don't get another ticket in the next 12 months the ticket doesn't go on your record. It's not something they advertise. A very nice state trooper I happened to be talking to on the side of the highway pointed it out to me. Might be worth seeing if they have something similar down there.
Turning right on a red light. At this intersection it used to be legal to turn right. When I approached the intersection my sun visor was down and I was unable to see the sign across the street. The sign was very high and partially covered by tree branches. The sign on the right while approaching the intersection. was about 20 feet back from the limit line.
I was going to fight it but the ticket was only 130.00 and I figured it wasn't worth taking time off work. I guess it was stupid to not take driving school, but I didn't think it would affect my insurance that much since I have never had a ticket I just didn't know.

I got a speeding ticket near Bakersfield and so far no increase with my GMAC or State Farm. I would have taken the traffic school if I could have because I was worried about the having to take the drivers test again. I dread taking those tests. But at least my insurance didn't go up...well at least not yet.

at least you can go to traffic school. Firefighters or anyone who has a class B license cant - even when driving private vehicles. Its stricter for BAC level too... Not that i condone it.
