Re: Sheriffdoug's Sportsmobile Engine Rebuild

It's debatable whether an aluminum radiator actually cools better than a plastic one but they sure look cooler. Stronger and longer-lasting for sure but I've never been able to find any actual performance data. In my research I checked with Mishimoto and they don't make one for the E series.

Performance also makes the radiator that Bulletproofdiesel sells but it is my understanding that both still have crimped tanks and are stamped aluminum. However, even fully welded tanks can split and the Performance version is $150 cheaper with free shipping.

I'm really interested to find out if the one you sourced is all aluminum and did you have to transfer the cooler fittings from the old one?

Yellow SMB Right Hand Drive, converted by Windows, a whole lot cheaper than AUD$40k here in Australia!

You are going to have to get new decals too - specify right hand drive decals.

Re: Sheriffdoug's Sportsmobile Engine Rebuild

Just leave it that way Doug. When people drive by and look in the rear view mirror they'll be able to see it's a Sportsmobile

Wow, can't wait to see what they do. Will you be around to take any photos as they change it over?

Nice that the exchange rate is presently about .72USD.....at least for us yanks anyway.....That's still a chunk of change....

Curious to see how they deal with the tiny footwell on the E350 passenger side.......please post a few pics.
