Re: Taylor Bridge Wildfire near Cle Elum, WA
We're heading out that way a week from Friday (to the Gorge). Would love to hear any updates.
My wife, a big "Northern Exposure" fan, was horrified when she heard of this fire. It sounds like it is nowhere near Roslyn, but we still feel for those that have lost homes. It is a beautiful part of the state, and we like exploring around that area. Good on you for donating your time and possessions.
For those that don't know, Roslyn, WA and surrounding areas stood in for Cicely, AK in the popular early 1990s TV series.
Cheers,
Brent

Re: Taylor Bridge Wildfire near Cle Elum, WA
They left a lot of the Northern Exposure set and props for tourists to see for a lot of years but I heard that most of it is gone now. I was there last in the mid 90’s (In a 4x4 Van!).

It is currently 90% contained and will be 100% out by Friday. Drove by the area 2 days ago and it was burning still in a lot of areas.

Re: Taylor Bridge Wildfire near Cle Elum, WA
I drive through the eastern edge of this area every year to go camping..... we've seen some wildfires up in the mountains, very scary because of how dry it is and how quickly they spread.
Everyone here on the west side of the mountains have been keen to help but it looks like they have it under control.

Re: Taylor Bridge Wildfire near Cle Elum, WA
I work for the State Dept. of Natural Resources the agency that employees the states many wildland fighters and used to fight fire myself. Thankfully the rains finally came here as our summer fire season was late and hectic. Good on you for donating, the people around Ellensburgh WA are good people. Seeing a home burnt to the ground is not a happy site and I feel for them.
