Re: We are back in a SMB! (Barn Find)

Lastly, i'd like to point out that it has solar with a controller/monitor. For 2003, this was an spendy option. They appear to be two 60's or two 80's. Which is fine for what it needs to do. Also, there's Two AGM house batteries instead of one like our last SMB. So that's a plus too. They're located in fiberglass pockets in each of the vans rear quarters. Once i get a rear bumper, the spare will move and they'll get moved inboard to the frame for more protection.

Re: We are back in a SMB! (Barn Find)

Hi Dave,

Congrats! Wow! That is a great looking rig and un-real find. If you EVER find something like that again, and are feeling generous, please send it my way!

One question - Where is the fridge? I am guessing it is vertical, aft of the sofa seat?

Resist the urge to fill it all up!

BTW, picked up my teardrop from SCT this morning (minor repair), after meeting up with Surfgeek33 to sell him my EdgeStar fridge. The economy is at least picking up for SCT, they're now taking new trailer orders for out in July. Did you give up your placeholder, or will you be towing a teardrop with your SMB?

Every time I stop by there, there have some new build or option. Hard to keep the credit card in the wallet.

Thanks for the pictures Dave. Wow...I really can't believe all of the storage for food, dishes/cooking stuff AND clothing and bedding. Lots of counter space too. Geez...I think we need an EB now!

Great find...and the color is perfect too!

Ray, the fridge is the to left of the couch. Our last fridge was large, but this one has one extra shelf for a total of 3. It's a huge Norcold.. 3.1 cubic feet. with full size freezer. Biggest one i've seen in a SMB so far.

Herb, the teardrop towing world is gone for us. No need for one, but i will stand behind their product for years and still camp with the owner.

Today i used a product called "FOREVER BLACK" on the plastic bumper skirts. They look almost new again. They were faded bad.

Other than that pesky Quigley thing, this is my dream. I didn't know it was possible.

Just figured you might need a tow-along doghouse (and I'm not talking about for Dixie), or for kids....?

Forever Black is great on all colors of plastic. Works pretty damn good on powder coated Aluminess bumpers too, you just need to go easy with it, and rub it in really well.

Plasti-dip on the bumper plastic works pretty great too, and you can just touch it up when you scratch it. I've never heard or the Forever Black product, just offering another idea if it wears off.

Re: We are back in a SMB! (Barn Find)

Rally, i hear you there on the Quigley. But for 90% of what we do right now it will be fine. Already have replacement arms and trac bar part #'s in cue to be ordered with newer beefier style.

Eventually it will get leafs upfront.. maybe a Ujoint kit or SMB's kit. We'll see.

Plastidip is great, but the lower section of these bumpers use those silly anchor type screws that take the weird tool. So i couldn't or didn't want to take that much time to yank them. I've used forever black on our Jeep flares before and they make plastic look new. It's temporary for now as it will get bumpers eventually.

Herb, a rolling doghouse would be great.. i'll try and stay out of trouble for now.
