We took the plunge!

What's up guys! After lurking in the shadows for so long and mulling over several options, the wife and I finally took the plunge. We decided to go the route of the home builder since coming up with a large chunk of change for either a new or later model SMB was not feasible. After searching long and hard, we stumbled upon an '08 E-350 EB cargo van fitted with a 6.0l diesel and only 3300 miles for $19k. Our penthouse appt is already set up for mid march at SMB west. We plan on keeping the interior simple with a custom 4 person sofa bed and a couple captain chairs. At most, we'll only add a removable sink and maybe a small fridge. Eventually, when the funds allow, I plan on doing the 4x4 conversion. We are definitely excited and expect a ton of questions from me. Now, for the pics...

Yup, about a month and a half ago at the time of purchase. It now has just over 3700.

Re: We took the plunge!

Welcome to the forum. Keep the pics coming as your project progresses. The build process is half the fun - though some here may disagree with me on that count.

Seems like a good starting price. Aluminum could get cold on the feet unless you wear heavy socks or slippers. Maybe a throw rug. If it's the diamond pattern you're after, SMB West has a rubber one in silver (more like dark gray).

Now let the fun begin!

The diamond plate already came installed. I'm pretty sure I'll get rid of it. I'll see if anyone on here can find some use for it once I remove it. We having decided on what kind of floor we want yet.

Welcome to the "club." Glad to have you aboard! Seems like you got a great deal on your van. And now the real spending begins. You're going to find that it's hard to resist adding cool stuff to your van.

Hope to see you on the road!

Mac

Tell me about it! At this point in time, with a clean slate, everything sounds cool. First order of business is to get the interior started. We can't even take our 21 month old out in the van until the seats get bolted down.
