When 1der and I were at a junkyard in Long Beach a few weeks ago, they had a tiny 4 cylinder short block on the counter....really tiny....

You could carry that one on.....the guy said it was from the new Dodge Dart/Fiat, etc. A little over one liter displacement. Looked like it belonged in a golf cart.

Is the right hand drive conversion in fact required to import a vehicle into Australia? (OK, I searched a bit, looks like that's the case in a number of scenarios. Particularly with newer vehicles.) -- Wow!

In contrast: In the US virgin islands traffic is on the left side of the road, but all the vehicles fall under US DOT, so they are left hand drive.

Pretty amazing. But I'm still not sure where your left foot will go... Maybe switch to a narrower brake pedal, or cut off the left side?

Hi. It's not a Quigley. 4WD Conversion done in SLC,, UT

All imported vehicles under 15 years of age have to comply to ADR's = Australian Design Rules for the year of manufacture. Emissions, seatbelts, safety standards, windscreen glass rules, mirrors/ side & rear view, etc.
A RAWS import license has to be obtained before the purchase of the vehicle,
Failure to complete necesary paper work in correct manner can lead to confiscation and fines equalling the value declared by the Australia Federal Government.
Inport Duty is 5% & 10 % Goods & Services Tax, $ and a Luxury car tax for vehicles over $67,500 at a further 10%.
