Re: 2015 King of the Hammers.....

Tapatio, we stayed the night at the top of the Back Door obstacle area. Went up late after most people had left for the day and parked right up on the course overnight. We woke up in the perfect spot to watch the race.

If you watch the aerial video you will see where we are parked.

Re: 2015 King of the Hammers.....

The year before, Jan and I parked up there by ourselves. The wind was really bad so we left the top down and got a good night sleep. In the morning, the wind was still blowing hard, so we slept in. When we did open the curtains, there were hundreds of people all around us freezing their butts off and getting wind burned. We sat there warm and toasty with front row seats.

It is the first obstacle in the race and they pass by it two to three times depending on course layout. Great place to watch from.

Re: 2015 King of the Hammers.....

I thought seriously about heading back down, but I need to be in Wa on the 9th and the van needs some work before I take on too many more off road adventures. Hopefully, we can make it next year, but with two of the best photographers I know going, I"m sure we wil see some great photos from this year. .............
