395 / Grays Meadow / 'Bama Hills

Orange County to Independance, Lone Pine and return

Gas $200, i am a slacker dont count miles
Miles, about 600
Avg speed 70 mph with A/C cranked on my V-10 with 38,000 miles
FYI- Wilson, although LOOKS top heavey, no prob with cross winds and big rigs

Left my office in So Cal at 4 pm

Arrived at Grays Meadows 9 ish ( hit traffic and flooding )

Great spot # 13 in the upper portion
EXCEPT the freaking stream was too loud

A little side trip, would have been a great campsite also
Road was blocked by a boulder (note to self: boulder removal gear)
(think it was placed, but not really in the middle....)

A little look see for fishing holes
Didnt find any, good thing, i left the bait at camp

Down the road to 'bama Hills
Had the place to ourselves
It was HOT!!

Left 9 ish back to So Cal on Sunday
gassed up in Lone Pine, breakfast
hit the roadside produce guy for the second time
Great mangos !!

Was at Albertsons (our local supermarket) by 3 pm
Great trip
Too short

Last three pics only. I see other picture numbers in the post, but not the pics.

There is no such thing as a stream that's too loud is there?
