.I've been trying to figure a way to attend also. Between Work, a Bath Remodel and a Leaking NEW ROOF I'm also going to have to back out.

Next time,

Yikes!!!!

What else to say?

Fortunately, still enough folks can attend to make it as much fun as I have planned on. I just got back from a weekend in NYC, and I have to check the new weather forecast, but I"M GOING in any weather!

We are now meeting up in Furnace Creek, right along the big turnout area in front of all the palms.

Still 9 AM on Friday. Some folks will be there Thursday, and so will I, but I will be hiding out near stovepipe that night for the early morning photo opportunities, and then going to Furnace Creek by 9.

See you there.....

UPDATE: Great weather expected. Rain very doubtful!

Can I get GPS coordinates of both locations? Or an address near enough each to make it a no brainer.

I haven't even had time to think about the highway route much less the actual destination and things just seem to keep getting worse- They (ABF) lost one of my ReloCubes and it is still missing. Also nearly fell through the 1960s homemade attic stairs in the garage while cleaning it for "storage". Argh!

Jage,
If your coming from Denver (I thought you moved) Your best bet is I 70 all the way to I 15 to just north of Vegas. Take newer beltway (Hwy 325) to hwy 95. North on 95 to Beatty NV and then over to DV. Easy route in the winter once past the rockies.
We do this route several times a year. Pretty drive through the San Rafael Swell and the Virgin River area too.

Jage,
I second what Saline said. If you have time stay a night in the San Rafael Swell. On my 8 week trip that was one of my favorite places. You can see the "Little Grand Canyon" and probably have the entire place to yourself. Highly recommended.

See everyone in Furnace Creek.
Steve

Well I just got back from DV 27th-6th. Here were some diesel fuel prices. Most of the prices of diesel seemed to fall between prem and reg.
Turlock Ca 3.39/9
Tehachapi Summit Cheveron 3.49/9
Bakersfield seen off the hi-way 58 3.41/9
Inyokern (Chepo fueling spot???) 3.43/9
Ridgecrest Leaving out of town (cheapo spot???) 3.39/9
Stove Pipe Wells No Diesel
Beatty NV 3.49/9 @ 2 locations (cheapo spots the only 2 in town?)
Furnace Cr Chevron 4.09
Laythrop Wells 3.35/9
Amragosa Valley 3.35/9
Pahrump Chevron 3.42/9 (there were cheaper spots)
Furnace Cr 4.25
Baker Ca Vallero3.49/9 Don't quote me!
Turlock Ca 3.49/9 Yes prices went balistic. The next day they went up more.
There is diesel at DV Panamint junction but we never went there. There was a spot in Panamint valley at a cheapo spot but I never recorded the price.

Don't ask why we went to Pahrump....maybe later.
Hope all who join the trip will have a safe fun trip...wish I could attend.
Dave Boyer.

Is the Copper Globe Road SMB-able?

Where are good places to camp here?
