Got an email today directly from Sportsmobile advertising the event. Wonder what they would say if I showed up with my home build, Agile conversion with a CCV top?

Yeah, wonder if they say that to everyone they're courting....

Where exactly is the compound? I'm familiar with the area, but can't quite place it from the photo. What do they plan to provide in the way of camping support, or is it just a wide spot in the desert kinda thing?

Looked at this but not sure what you get for $389 plus another $200 for a passenger. You already have the lodging part covered. They don't list what is included outside of some drives and some basic training classes. Do they feed you? They also sent me the link from my motorcycle contact so this will be vans and motorcycles at one event so not sure why they push it as a expo vans type of event.

I’m waiting to hear back from them to see what’s up. I have ideas of fun but might be a little much for most.

Just was on the phone with Jim and he is going to be joining the forum to answer any questions. It sounds more like a event to have fun and learn then just learn. It’s going to be a social group and you can do what your skill level is or go with others to push the limits and when done you get food and drink with a show. Oh if you google the name Rawhyde zakar on the maps it will show up.

Note from RawHyde

Hey Folks... Jim Hyde here... The owner of RawHyde and I wanted to add a couple of comments here.

This project began with a conversation I had with Alan Feld wherein he mentioned that Sportsmobile used to do annual rallies, but that they hadn't done one in a long time and he wondered aloud about having an SMB owners gathering at our annual Adventure Days event... to which I said it would be awesome.

So here's the deal... the "package" we offer includes daily classes and clinics on everything from winching, navigation, first aid, cooking, sand driving and more... You get three meals per day, adult beverage package included, as well as some local "adventures" if you'd like to go exploring. You'll get a bundle of GPS tracks to follow if you want to go out for a drive.

There will be live music every night as well as a big bonfire one night...

If anyone has questions you can reach me at 213 713 5652 or via email at jim@rawhyde-offroad.com

cheers...
