Africa........

Trip has been great so far but not the weather. Cloudy and cold until yesterday so hoping for better photo ops the rest of the trip.

I have been just as interested in the vehicles as the animals......more to come....

Nice! Keep 'em coming!

That Toyota looks similar to the various "Utes" in Australia.

Re: Africa........

Yesterday we took a helicopter tour of the area and checked out all the animals from the air. Also had a chance to drive a Unimog and a V8 Land cruiser.

The chopper pilot also flies drones so we had a great time flying around his farm after the flight.

Our host offered to put together a 10 day overlanding trip next year into Botswana with fully kitted Defender 110's and trailers.

This pilot is one of the best I have flown with. His primary business is crop spraying so low and fast is the name of the game for him. We flew 80 mph plus 15 feet off the ground half the time which was amazing in itself. Then flew up to the top of a 3000 foot or so plateau skimming the top off it then over the 3000 foot drop. Good times.

I plan on meeting up with him next year in Cape Town for some aerial projects.

Hi,

Two words from a just returned, two time Botswana fan:

DO IT!

The Okavango delta and the Limpopo river areas are spectacular. Miles of miles of miles of scenery and animals.

And Devil's Peak Brewery in Cape Town makes a fine craft beer.

Regards,

Gavin
