Umm well, since you're already out of Arizona, I would say Death Valley, then Alabama Hills (Independence), and up the 395 to Mammoth & get some hot spring action maybe some skiing? If you're considering Utah, Lone Rock at Lake Powell is great, then check in at the BLM office in Big Water. You can get directions and conditions on Smoky Mountain Road (Alstrom Point) or House Rock Road (Paria, Buckskin Gulch, Coyote Buttes, and White Pocket). It's cold now in the high desert, but dry for now. I just spent the weekend outside of Sedona... so much cool stuff, so little time...

I just joined the forum and read part of the trip report. I just love your pictures, and I've wanted to go to Alstrom Point for a couple years now. Thanks for the wonderful pics.
