Re: Anza Borrego over New years (Was Mojave)

Looks like a great trip and the weather doesn't seem as bad as I thought it would be for you guys.
Sometimes I miss my van, mainly for all the great SMB owners out there.

Re: Anza Borrego over New years (Was Mojave)

Thanks to all, we had a great time. It was fun to meet new folks and we hope to do it again some day. After departing, we moved camp to a different wash, where unbelievably we ran across long lost friends I hadn't seen them in over ten years, since they moved from Berkeley to British Columbia. We had a great reunion, and lots of laughs. There was one potential tragedy though, when one of the gals was on a hike and fell fully into the arms of a big Cholla cactus. Fortunately, there were several other folks along who ever so carefully extracted her from the Chollas grip. Oddly, she had no reservations about stripping off her clothes and letting everyone work on removing the spines. The worst was one huge one that actually stapled her butt cheeks together. She was a trouper though, and after ice, some antibiotic cream, and more than a little wine was in great spirits. I latter proclaimed her as the high priestess of the Cholla, a title that will stick with her for the remainder of her life.

So, we're still on the road, and after a stop at Ramsey's, will be off to Death Valley. Any one care to join us?

Back at work re-compressing.

When I got home I was able enhance my SMB with some of the thoughtful ideas I gleaned from my camping compatriots.

Thanks for the new friendships and I look forward to meeting up again somewhere.

[Craig - Thanks for helping me permanently embed in my memory when to use of my lockers. ]

Kinda like this? Warning: language, as can be expected.

We get them flying in the race car and stuck in all the wrong places - can't stop. I've had my Navigator have to pull them out of me.

I've said for years you haven't experienced Baja until you've been at a Pemex station with your pants around your ankles pulling cactus needles out with a leatherman.

I finally got around to downloading my photos from the New Years trip. Bev and I had a great time and really enjoyed meeting our fellow SMBers. Here are a few photos. The rest are in my gallery.
