Bad road adventures

I'm on my way to the King of the hammers, but decided to run the Mojave trail first. After three days on the trail without seeing a single other human being, the first vehicle I see turns out to be Chrism from the forum, in his very sweet Agile equipped Quigly. He was traveling with two jeeps so I hooked up with them two days. Traveling remote desert trails solo eliminates some of the more challenging trails, so it was good to have some company. Navigation was challenging at times since two different guide books and two GPS mapping programs all disagreed at a couple points, but continuing in a generally Westward direction eventually worked out. There is lots of history and roads to explore so I plan to return again.

Wait no pics?
Love that trail. Doubt I'd do the northern section to the Manix wash by myself again. Some great places to camp along the main route, so many that it's almost a shame to fly through it.

I chickened out when I got to a Mojave river crossing that was long and an unknown depth. If I wasn't solo I might have tried it but it could have turned into a lot of unnecessary work too.

Fortunately, I've got lots of time and did five days, but I'll doit again, hopefully with company so we can explore some of the more challenging sections.
