Baja wale watching?

My delightful wife, who just got back from a month in Finland, surprised me today. She said let’s go to Baja to do some wale watching. I said sure.

My question for the Baja experts here is when should we go and where should we go to see the wales.

I'm no Baja expert, only having been down there a few times. The whale watching peaks in February I think, there were a few to be seen at the end of March during our Cabo San Lucas honeymoon a few months ago.

Word is, from the locals, July the hot a humid, August gets tropical storms, sometimes flooding in the washes, most of the tourists don't bother coming down during that time.

If it were me, I might explore the California and Oregon coasts, San Juan Islands of Washington instead, and hold off until November or December to head south of the border.

Check out this article for an overview. We were down there years ago in March and got to go out in the pangas to see the gray whales in Magdalena bay, was amazing.
We’re planning on being down in Baja this winter/early spring and will definitely be checking them out again along with the other spots mentioned in the article.
