Baja with Agile

Quick write up from The Adventure Portal on an Agile-led trip to the Baja 1000 that I joined for 36 hours...

Down south, Mexico Way: TAP's Baja Adventure - | TAP into Adventure!

(for the record, I intentionally buried my van in the sand.. wanted to test my winch with loaded van and trailer.. and it worked great.)

Great story! It rekindled my interest in doing a similar trip, that I've been talking about for 3 years.

I've driven to Ensenada a few times, but since finding ADVrider.com, I've been Jonesin' for a trip deep into Baja, maybe to LaPaz. I have some VW Bus friends, and a retired co-worker with his band of BMW adventure bike buddies that make annual trips. Piggy backing onto a SCORE or NORRA event seems like a way to meld both my motorsports life with my nature seeking adventure side.

I keep wanting to go, but haven't made it a priority.... yet.

This story just moved that trip up the list, thank you!

Not from me.. I hooked up to arctictraveller's van and pulled myself out in seconds, then backed right back into where I came out of.. just not punching it to spin the tires the second time!

Jeff, later stuck his van trying to climb up a little bank to camp - since it was dug in "level" he camped right there, and a quick tug the next morning pulled him right out.

As a little side note - everyone who got stuck had a "Straight Axle" up front - just sayin'.

No TTB's were stuck in the making of this adventure!
