I would love to do this, but cant justify spending that much on this. Anyone want to go out there and get stuck a couple times on purpose? we can take turns getting ourselves/each other out!

In all seriousness, I am sure it is worth the money for those that can afford it. Being stuck, or worse breaking something out in the middle of nowhere is no fun, and if $700 keeps that from happening, then it is money well spent.

I'll just try to keep up my streak of being the one to recover people, not the other way around.

I'd be interested in this as well. The best way for me to learn is to get out and do it a few times. Maybe a weekend camping/vehicle recovery trip to Anza Borrego before or after summer ?

I asked him about combining Sprinters and other vans--or if they should separate classes.
January or February would ideal for me.
Thanks.

Thanks Gooseberry. Bill got back to me and he has some dates in February available.
We could do Feb. 8-10 (weekend) or 17-20 (weekday). Last year his price was per van.
What do you guys think?

I prefer the Feb 8-10 dates, as the other dates are a holiday weekend. Hope it works out to be a Ford E series class, but would probably still attend if mixed. Plan to bring SherryFromSF also.

Great Joe! I'll get Bill to lock down that date. I imagine that he will take deposits. I would also like to keep it to the E series style vans also.
I'll post the details as soon as we are confirmed.

Just to pipe in on this... when we did it with Bill we had Mostly Fords, 1 GMC and then 2 Sprinters. We all went the same places and learned the same stuff. The only thing he had to do was to explain the difference between the drive systems. He used a Sprinter and the GMC to get stuck on sand drifts and unstuck in different ways. No big deal IMO and it was enlightening to see what the Sprinters could do. Just sayin'
