Fall colors map

Kind of an interesting map.

We've been having cooler than average temps the last few weeks and even though it's supposed to be 90+ tomorrow, morning temps have been quite low. My guess is the high sierra's are going to show color quicker this year.

From 9/23 S. Utah in Fishlake national Forest. A few days earlier the trees were green.

It's getting close to "peak-peeper-season" here in NH. I did a drive yesterday up into central NH and I'd say the leaves are at about 50%. Next weekend should be prime, but the weather forecast is looking iffy.

great pic dig!

our colors have been changing for about a month now. elevation has been dictating the amount of colors. lows in town are skirting freezing off and on. finally starting to see some change in town now. i love fall!

Based on what I saw in central NH over the weekend of 10/5, I would say that map is about a week off. I guess we'll see this weekend (10/12-13).

Or not at all! Here in Colorado we had about 3 days of Fall color before being hit by a very hard freeze. Every leaf immediately turned brown and shriveled up. Maybe somewhere else?

This area I live in got hit here early this year as well. During the last few days we've had temps like I remember as a kid in the 60's-70's.

Central NH and VT are just about perfect right now and will probably stay good for another week. I plan to be out in northwestern MA on Friday and I anticipate decent color out there as well.
