Re: Forum Meetup in October 2009
Late October? Kaiser Wilderness above Fresno would be great for me as it usually closes in November.
But I’m flexible. Sonora Pass, Tioga Pass if their still open. Any Central Ca people interested?

Re: Forum Meetup in October 2009
That is an away game college football weekend for us, so this could save me from a trip to Missouri (Misery)....
I can help in TX.
(and we will just set aside 3.5 hours to watch via satellite)

Re: Forum Meetup in October 2009
Daveb, we could probably make it too. That's if it's up out of the valley. Sonora or Tioga sound good to me.

Re: Forum Meetup in October 2009
So what do you guys want to do? I'll start a topic with some ideas ideas in a different post so not to clog this one up but I'm wide open to suggestions of other spots. I don't care if it's a weekend meet or longer. I have not made runs in the Tahoe area for years so I'm lacking there. Respond on the October 2009 Central Ca Forum meet post. I know how things can fall apart at the last second and that won't bother me, It's my favorite time of year to camp and I'll be up there anyway

Re: Forum Meetup in October 2009
Yeah, you're probably right deminimis. I'll probably be there. Ho hum, another trip to Baja....
Besides, October is the best month of the year down there.
If anyone else is even thinking of going, DO IT!!!! We can provide lots of info on border crossing, routes and I'm sure even a caravan run can be arranged for those what want it.
There is more and more paving going on in Baja, and this will be one of the last chances to do the "road" before it is all gone.
Do yourselves a favor and make the run.

Re: Forum Meetup in October 2009
Scatter is right, once the "Worst Road in Baja" is paved, the upper gulf side will never be the same. I wanted to hit a Dead show in the Spring of '94 just to see the spectacle. I didn't go and now, I'll never see one (a real one anyway). Nothing worse if life than regret, folks. Or as our first truly American writer stated, "years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you did not do than by the ones you did do."
