Roger that, I'll feel like planning something for real when I get the van back from S&K at the end of August. I'm tentatively thinking that labor day weekend I'll be in the area...

That would be cool I'm free over labor day weekend- my wife will be in Indiana and I've got nothing going on here.

Our place is at Punta Bufeo which is about 90 miles south of San Felipe. 120 miles of good paved road to S.F. and then it's another 55 miles of good pavement to Puerticitos. From there the road goes to hell and it's 43 miles of bounch and jounce to our place. We make it in six hours from the border, but I tell folks to plan on eight. No need to do it all in one day either. Lots of places to camp along the way depending on your wants and needs. The way back out is either the way you came in or continue on south and hit the main highway. From there either head back north along the Pacific side or go south to see as much of the pennisula as you want.

There's lots of room on our beach, in the dunes, up the canyons, etc. to hold any number of rigs. We're not hung up on January, and are in the area most of the time from November thru May. The invite is open for everyone for a rally or as individuals on a vacation. If it's a rally everyone wants, we'll need to coordinate due to the remote location and lack of supplies. If ya want, we can head south from our place and "see the sights" for as far and as long as ya want.

Anyway, food for thot. I'm going to be traveling, so will be back on line this coming Sunday to Tuesday and then heading up to Canada for a month. Not taking a computer, as that's not our thing when camping.

Eight hours from the border, youch!

Otherwise it sounds fantastic. I'm thinking meetup and caravan from the border maybe?

My friend leads a group on this trail two times per year. http://www.thedesertoutlaw.20megsfree.com/catalog.html
I will be doing this once I have my SMB.
Days away from placing the order.

FWIW, in talking with Alan last Friday, the official SMB rally might be in Baja next year.

I've been wanting to do that Pole Line road for years. Don't really want to do it alone and can't find anyone else willing to give it a go. I'm not a big caravan kind of guy, but if one or two want to try, let me know! Always willing to try something new.
