The trip was magic! Linda and I enjoyed every moment even though we camped out of the Sequoia. If you ever have the opportunity to travel with Ramsey and Jan, jump! You won't ever forget the experience! We have new friends from Colorado and Switzerland and, hopefully many, many more adventures to share! We even camped with another SMB couple from Santa Cruz on the beach at Santa Rosalilita that had never heard of the Forum. I'm sure we may be hearing from them again soon. Great memories of a truly great adventure. Thank you Ramsey, Jan, Bret, Maryellen, Pierre, Natalie, Janielle, Clod and Andrew!

How many people and rigs wound up making the trip?

Re: Get ready to get your BAJA on! 2/27/14 - 3/7/14
There were 7 from the list of some 17 that actually made it down to Baja. We were not all together for the whole trip but for parts of it. Yodavan (Pierre and two daughters, Natalie and Janelle) traveled all the way from Denver to meet us in San Felipe - they were sure happy when we pulled up to the meeting spot 45 minutes late. They should be back in Denver tomorrow night, and the girls back in school. I was so happy to have the girls join us as it was a great experience - lessons not learned in school.
There were 11 of us on the two whale watching pongas, the obvious highlight of the trip. The other surprise highlight was the trip to the San Borja Mission. The best part of the trip for me was spending time with some really wonderful people.

Re: Get ready to get your BAJA on! 2/27/14 - 3/7/14
Did you get a tour of the orchards left over from the missionaries or a chance to soak in the hot springs up the stream from San Borja? Amazingly lush for such an arid region.
We were blown away by the hospitality of the family that lives there when we were down in May. Noni was like a kid whisperer. She scooped up our one year old under one arm and we couldn't believe how our shy little four year old just gravitated towards her. I was very happy to hear that her brother who had given us a tour of the mission ten years ago when he was twelve or so years old is now studying archaeology at University.

Even though we never met up with the group, thank you Ramsey for setting us up for a great adventure. Gloria and I got back yesterday after following your timetable. We got to San Felipe about 10pm on Friday and found El Pescador in the dark - a neat trick I thought. We looked and waited at various points but just started on the trip and it was great. We also did the San Borja Mission and took the tour to the rock paintings there. Of course the whales at San Ignacio.....I hope we meet up in a future trip. I would have loved to travel with you all. Bryan
