Amazing no one was injured in that. I have a feeling they will get that fixed quickly from a Baja perspective as it will really effect Ensenada tourism.

I would head back through Tecate if your last destination is South of Ensenada. The border wait seems to be much better than San Ysidro plus you can stop at a winery (or two) to break up the drive.

The Free Road from La Mission to Ensenada goes around the damage on the Toll Road. Taking Hwy 3 between Tecate and Ensenada is also a great option.

We will not be going through Ensenada on this trip as we will be on the east side of the peninsula.

I thought you were heading over to San Ignacio and the lagoon. Would you travel back up the East side from there?

Even though there is ~50 miles of dirt road, it is the only way we go anymore. No traffic and beautiful.

Unfortunately we are not going to be able to make it this time . I was really hoping it would work out since it sounds like such an incredible itinerary. You are going to places I've never been and always wanted to visit. And then there is San Ignacio which we've been dying to get back to. Looking forward to living vicariously through everyone and seeing the trip reports and pictures.

Count us in! We'll be doing the "Plan B" thing and joining the group on Sunday as we cannot get more than one week off work.
It will be the wife, myself and Diesel dog in the E350.

Looking forward to it.
