Gilroy Garlic Festival

The family and I are heading the to Gilroy Garlic Festival later this month, where my wife will be competing in the Garlic Festival cookoff. She competed three years ago where she placed third in the competition. This is the first year she's allowed to compete again since she "placed" the last time. The cookoff is the 26th of July.

We'll likely be heading up there in the SMB (though our diesel VW Passat wagon gets more than twice the mileage ). The SMB makes a much better base camp though for our two year old son for both naps and for an occasional Disney movie diversion.

If anyone's going, be sure to stop by the cookoff stage and say Hi. There's always garlic ice cream!

Hey Herb, I was actually planning on heading down on that Sunday. I'll let you know if that bears out.

Have seen this on the food channel or some channel on the TV. Looks like a fun event. Please keep us posted on how your wife does.
I read on another RV forum of someone that was also going to the festival.

Herb, I'll be sure to sniff for your odor as you pass through SB!

Good luck with the cook-off. Wish I could be there. I'm a garlic nut!

Buji,

Sunday will probably be a lazy morning and then a drive home for us. Traveling with a two year old limits our options. Definitely let me know if you can make it Saturday.

We love the Garlic festival! I think more people come every year.

Good luck to your wife!

Regards,

Keith

Good news: my wife got third place (same as last time she competed).

Bad news: she can't compete in the garlic cookoff for another three years (same as the last time she competed).

A great festival as always. Garlic rosemary fries
