Gooseberry escapes to Mammoth sept 2nd to the 4th

After driving by Mammoth a couple weeks ago I decided to just go and Mt bike using the easy way up and free camp Idono wear. So if you see Jiminy wave or stop me and lets do a ride.

PM me I should have access on my phone.

If you want to be relatively close to town, there is a DWP free campsite on the west side of 395 about two miles south of the Mammoth 203 turnoff. It is up against the base of the mountain. Not a lot of tree cover, but there is a nice creek. Great for a night or two. If you want to be farther out and really boondock, check out the area off Benton Crossing Rd or head north towards June Lake.
Have fun. Great riding up there.

Make sure you ride Lower Rock Creek trail. The trail head is just off of 395 one road south of Tom's Place. Great single track down and climb the pavement back up to your van (or start with the climb and leave your van at the bottom).

While the campsite out by the sewer reclamation pond (Mammoth Lake!) is nice, I believe that overnight dispersed camping is not legal on LADWP property.

Re: Gooseberry escapes to Mammoth sept 2nd to the 4th

Ok the Card in my camera went south while trying to save pictures tothe computer and would only tell me it needed to be formated. These are from my phone so enjoy.

This is the first spot and might just be inside the 2 mile no camping zone.

This was the best spot and is outside the 2 mile zone.

This is the third spot and closer to 395.

Goose approved of all the spots.

Again I think it was 3S08 .

But the pictures I wated to show everyone was Owens Gorge and all the spots I found off that nice little dirt road.

I also had some wheeling pictures that I pissed about loosing.

Now I know why your dog seems familiar. He was Mad Max's co-pilot.

Yep that movie was when I fell in love with the breed. They really hit the mark on the cattle dog and their personality. I do believe she can read my mind.

Another movie is last of the dogmen.
