Grid lock in Oregon?

I'm headed to Goldendale Ore to attend a motorcycle race, and I've heard a rumor that many roads are already gridlocked due to eclipse traffic. Anyone have any first hand reports? Should I depart a day early?

Huh? Traffic was absolutely normal this morning around PDX.

Friday will be a different story. Probably like a holiday weekend with home games at both schools. So, it may suck but I imagine it'll keep moving, barring wildfires. That could really put a choke on roadways.

The state officials are predicting doom and gloom traffic because of the eclips for next weekend. Have heard all sorts of guesstimates on numbers of cars. No one will really know how bad it will be till it gets here.

Goldndale is outside the eclips path so any traffic in the area will be passing through to get to another town. You can expect traffic to be slow around Portland early mourning and late afternoon during rush hours. If you are coming from Washington down I5 definitely take the I205 bridge to get to I84 eastbound. You will miss most of the traffic.

Are you doing the Maryshill race? If you are watch out for cows. A friend totaled his bike, a cow and almost himelf during a race a few years ago.

Thanks for all the info. It sounds like things are pretty normal at the moment, but I'll depart a day early just in case. Thanks again....
