Yosemite is relatively close (less than an hour as I recall to the entrance) You do not have to go all the way down to the valley if you do not have time (that is an extra hour drive from the entrance to the park to the valley). The Mariposa Grove is right at the entrance and the Wawona Hotel is within a few minutes of the entrance. If you haven't been to Yosemite you may as well go while you are in Fresno. One of my favorite spots.

CJ - we've done that trip twice now (once to pick up the van and once to get repairs done). We drove through Sequoia National Forest and the Kearnville area (Chimney Rock) on the way back in October. I loved both areas and would highly recommend them.

When we went up right before Thanksgiving for repairs, we headed West to Monterey, then drove back down through Big Sur, Los Olivas and the Frazier Mountain area. Another route I would higly recommend.

If you want any more details, let me know.

Last week we were in Fresno for some fixes as well. Left at 5:30 PM and stopped at Cedar Creek CC around 8:00 PM on the way to Death Valley. Very quiet (no one else), below the snow line, near lake Isabella. Needed 4wd to get back out.

Cedar Creek
Location: 10 miles east of Glennville via State Hwy. 155

Number of sites/units: 10 sites

Facilities: Sanitary facilities; tables and fire rings; piped spring water; not suitable for trailers; swimming; fishing

Elevation: 4,800 ft.

"Cedar Creek CC" lat=35.7474745601, lon=-118.584583455

Decent diner at Lake Isabella called Dam Korner

You guys are great, Thanks for the ideas, Some I have been to N some are new.

I will relay this to my navigator and see what she picks, also depends on how long at the factory. Expectation is all day Monday then squeak in a few days.

Thanks for ALL the great Ideas.
