Heading south! Oh the Places We'll Go...

Getting ready to get out of town for the next few weeks with my crew and recharge the personal battery banks.... Current plan has us leaving hopefully in the next few days and heading down thru the now snowy San Juans - Cortez/Mesa Verde - Flag/Sedona - Phoenix - Baja. Co-worker has a casita just north of Gonzaga Bay and plan is to be down there in time to go see the the Baja1000 rip past. After that the tentative plan is to meander north maybe along the Pacific side. Then hit Joshua Tree - Death Valley areas and then be home in time for ski season ~ 12/1ish

Anyone have any absolute favorite must/see do spots or campsites along the way, especially down in Baja? - this will be our 1st time south of the border in Baja. Emphasis on kiddo friendly too as the 5 and 7yr old will be on board and if there are any cool historical things that is a bonus as my wife home-schools (or should I say Adventure school) the gremlins. Will have an inflatable SUP packed as well so if there are any killer beach campsites...Been studying up on iOverlander as well but if there are any personal faves pls share

We are fully self supported - and it will be the maiden voyage of my recent DIY UJoint De-Quiglify job on the van. Been logging some break-in miles on the rig the last week or 2 and Im all giddy with how well it drives and handles now. Went with the 6" kit with a Stage2 front end and 35" ST Maxx's...

Don't you think your kids would be better served confined to a desk and building all day?

HA! JUST KIDDING! Fellow homeschool family here.

Congrats! Hope y'all have a great time, safe travels....

Bajanomad (http://forums.bajanomad.com/) is by far your best source for Baja information. Don't forget your passports and insurance (http://www.bajabound.com/) . You and your kids will love Mexico! Cheers!

Nice, wish we were headed down.....soon. Years ago, we traveled throughout Baja, made a stop at Guerro Negro and booked a panga boat out into Magdalena bay to get up close to the grey whales, just awesome! Can't wait to take our little man down there.......
