Our current plan is to head out west a week or so early to check out the surrounding area. Let's touch base end of April to firm up plans.
Maybe a little exploring before or after the event.

My wife and I are heading south to the Expo. We leave WA Wednesday morning and plan to be there Thursday night thru the weekend. Then spend the next week headind north through Utah. No solid plan other than my wife has to get back to work Tuesday after Memorial Day.
It will be great to meet up with as many SMBers as we can.

My wife and I finally completed and submitted our Overland Expo West class choices yesterday. Their web site warned it was a complicated process, and they were not wrong. I think we spent the better part of a day studying the class descriptions and trying to pick times that would include most of our favorites. Then of course, we had to try and synchronize our 2 sets of class choices. Man!

I have to say though, the organizers of the event have done a great job with their web site, making the process much less difficult than it could have been.

Now we are excited to be there; our first time.

Current plan is to head out to AZ mid month in May about 7-10 days before the 20th Expo. Ideally do some exploring/camping. Iron out details in a few weeks.

where are you staying?

Are you all planning on camping on site at the show? Or off -site "desolate" or ...?

My family is evaluating, thinking about heading out there. Brand new SMB and first Expo as well.

current plan

We plan to arrive in the Flagstaff area up to a week early to see the local area. Ideally a few of us meet up and explore the area. We are staying at the event.
After we have no plans and are open to ideas.

I am thinking of maybe heading to the White Mountains the week after. Would be open to get a small group together. Fly fishing will be part of the agenda. Still working on details.

I will be there just for one day before heading off to Capital Reef NP. Not sure which day, but there will be lots of SMB's there for sure.
Good travels!

If anyone is familiar with that area and knows places to camp, let us know please.
Also any local things to see while in the Flagstaff area would be great.
