YIKES, what a bummer. When a person goes overboard you are suppose to shout man overboard and throw a life ring while the captain makes a uturn. I wonder why no one did?

Anyway, No need to check my ebrake. Unknown to me at the time, it stuck on and after driving for a while I finally smeled it burning. It was smoking pretty good when I stopped, and hasn't worked since. Good thing the ferry has doors that close.

Last night was the first time ever I pulled into an RV park. Temps were hovering around 5degs and I wanted to plug in my heater. It was a very good decision. On to Prince Rupert tonight.

I hope the ferry line relies on something more than people setting their parking brakes. I'm all for personal accountability, but if a car on the ferry rolled into my car, I'd be going after the ferry line and not necessarily the owner of the other car.

It's amazing my windshield hasn't broken yet. All the roads have been covered in gravel, which is a good thing due to the ice, but at least twice an hour a rock will hit the windshield. Since crossing Stephens pass in Wa, there has not been one road that wasn't covered in snow. Pretty much all of them have been sanded too. I only got sideways once though, and that was just outside Prince Rupert where there was minimal road maintenance and no sand. I drive very conservitavely, normally right at the limit, but Canadians must all run studded tires based on how fast they drive on the ice. Getting passed in the ice while doing 60 or 65 will get your attention every time. I only saw one car that spun out and was backward in a snow berm. Anyway, the ferry loads tomorrow at 0500 and lands in Ketchikan in the afternoon. It's been a great trip so far.
