Re: Jackson Hole "Meet and Greet" June 21st thru 23rd

Thanks Ron. Do you have the GPS coordinates?

I will be at Pinedale, Wyoming, attending a Boy Scout camp that week, but I plan to leave early and arrive at the Meet and Greet Thursday morning. Hopefully others will be there by then. Unfortunately I will need to leave late Saturday night to get back to Evanston to fulfill my church obligations.

I would like to suggest that we hold a group fun, food and drink social on Saturday night around 8:00 p.m. This will give people time to explore the area during the day and get back to camp for a "pot luck" sharing of munchies, treats, drinks and anything else anyone would like to share. Since it gets dark late in Wyoming in the summer, hopefully people will have had dinner and will be ready at 8:00 for some shared snacks and refreshments.

I also have a few Sportsmobile T-shirts left over from the Valley of Fire Meet and Greet. Whoever is there first in the right shirt size claims the prize.

Mac

My engine is telling me don't go. Just the fact that I've spent 3K on maintenance is killing me at this point and I haven't found the problem yet. Gonna have to play it by ear and right now I'm tone deaf.

Re: Jackson Hole "Meet and Greet" June 21st thru 23rd

Work sent me to a seminar on what will be the new building code standard for energy usage in 2014. One of the more interesting things about the seminar was a software program called Climate Consultant. I downloaded and the weather data for Jackson WY and got some interesting information.

Here is the average temperatures for Jackson. Looks like we may need to wear our coats at the M&G.

For those of you who are interested in humidity here is the temperature vs Rh plot.

If you have a solar panel you will be interested in the cloud cover.

Finely if you want to fly your kite.

The only thing I could not find in the program was precipitation data. Oh well, this being Oregon the rain gear is always in the van any way.

Some of you may find this program useful if you are going into an area that you know nothing about.

Enjoy,

Larrie

It's Wyoming. It could snow any day of the year. One year here in Evanston when I was a kid it snowed two inches on July 4th. Ruined the city's fireworks display. Bring your coat.

Thanks for getting things set up Ron! I'm looking forward to the weekend. The Gros Ventre campground is a good choice. In the Park, so closer to the views and the lakes. Won't be there until Friday night, sans wife. She will be in Seattle so I'll be going it alone.

Maybe we'll run into you during the Memorial Day weekend. We'll be there with our daughter and her family and some friends. Plan on going to the parade and rodeo.

Mike and Kris

Parade...rodeo... Ye haw, we'll be showing up sometime on Friday at the campground. Looking at spending mon-tues up in Yellowstone (anyone else?) would like to scout out other areas within the park while we're there. Looking forward to it!
