Just passin' through....

Hey all, I guess I won't really do a TR here this year since I don't have a van anymore. We bought a 25' motorhome recently which isn't going to replace a van for our offroad travels, but for this summer it's all there is for us to travel in. Oh well, at least we'll have a generator, AC, shower. Hard livin'. We mostly bought it for week or longer trips to Florida, etc. which we do a few of a year. By next summer I hope to have another offroad capable van. Anyway, at least it's an 05 Ford V10 with the Torqshift. Drives like a car and gets better mileage than my 460 van!

So, getting on with it, just a quick overview of where we'll be and when. If anyone is close to us let us know. I'd love to get together with some of my people for a beer or a visit. I've contacted a couple of folks but not many.

The plan: 23 days starting tomorrow
Tennessee down through Mississippi then I-10 across Texas to Pheonix (Scottsdale) to see family. Then on to a quick trip through Joshua Tree NP around June 1 then a stop in Palm Springs to visit more family on the way to 2 days at Disney/Universal.
June 4 puts us where we're trying to get to, Sequoia/King's Canyon and Yosemite for 5ish days, 2 reserved nights at Princess CG and one in Yosemite. DaveB, we'll be looking for you! Then across to 395 and back down to Alabama Hills/Lone Pine/Whitney area.
Next is a run through Death Valley around June 9/10 and on to Bryce/Needles/Moab for a few days. Unfortunately we can't stick around for the Moab get together on around the 20th. We're looking forward to doing everything we love to do out there except actual trail. Bummer.

Let me know if I'm going to be near you, or flag down the only silver Itasca motorhome around with a Trasharoo on the back!

Nice choice on the motor home! We pull a 19ft trailer that has a few comforts and amenities. Great for longer trips and campgrounds.

Have a great time on your trip!

This forum is too nice. Not a single person has made fun of Eric for getting old and buying a big land yacht?

I imagine it will pass thru his stable of rolling-stock just like all the rest... the big question is whether he totally rebuilds the big 'ol thang

Will it be called the Grey Ghost or something else? How about some inside photos showing all the room and convienences, like the sunken living room, pool table and hot tub? Hope you have a great trip. Let us know when you make a trip to the NW.

You know, I bet with some careful planning you could drop the family off at Disneyland, run down to Agile with that thing for the day and return with a driven front axle. I'm sure the wife would never know....
