Which route did you guys take in?
Here are the tracks from our trip, but a couple sections are missing on the way in. We hit the dirt inbound at Mesquite and exited near St. George.

Re: Kelly Point Overlook - Grand Canyon

Did you guys do any driving at night on the fast parts of the road coming in?

Kelly and I hit a bunch of rabbits running into the middle of the road as we driving from St. George to our first camp spot. If I remember correctly Kelly had 4-5 confirmed kills (Kelly to confirm, he was driving point). I finished off two that he grazed and one or two of my own. I have never seen that many rabbits. Wish we would have taken some video of how many there were.

Rabbit observation: They would run into the road as we approached, most of the time they would cross the road completely and then suddenly turn around and then attempt to run back across. The Theory.....they get spoked as they see headlights coming and start the run across the road, as they cross the road and pass the second headlight their shadow becomes pronounced on the opposite side of us. Their own shadow scares them and they turn and run the opposite direction back into the middle of the road.

Thinking their own shadow propels them to their deaths.

It seemed to happen almost every time like this.

I am preparing for the various replies on this one.....

No bunnies felt much and I was trying to avoid them but with that many it was hard. Really at any point I could count 10 or more running and all sizes for bigger then Goose to little ones.

Re: Kelly Point Overlook - Grand Canyon

Ok just some stuff I snapped on the trip.

Tien in his rolling couch

http://<a href="http://s963.photobuc...&#91;/img]</a>

Brent bouncing and swaying
http://<a href="http://s963.photobuc...&#91;/img]</a>

Pretty much a bunch of this
http://<a href="http://s963.photobuc...&#91;/img]</a>

http://<a href="http://s963.photobuc...&#91;/img]</a>

http://<a href="http://s963.photobuc...&#91;/img]</a>

http://<a href="http://s963.photobuc...&#91;/img]</a>

http://<a href="http://s963.photobuc...&#91;/img]</a>

http://<a href="http://s963.photobuc...&#91;/img]</a>

It was pretty warm waiting to regroup
http://<a href="http://s963.photobuc...&#91;/img]</a>

And then the new toys come out and the melting of the minds.
http://<a href="http://s963.photobuc...&#91;/img]</a>

That really came in handy for those hard to reach branches.
http://<a href="http://s963.photobuc...&#91;/img]</a>

Then it starts getting real tight with washouts.
http://<a href="http://s963.photobuc...&#91;/img]</a>
http://<a href="http://s963.photobuc...&#91;/img]</a>
http://<a href="http://s963.photobuc...&#91;/img]</a>
http://<a href="http://s963.photobuc...&#91;/img]</a>
http://<a href="http://s963.photobuc...&#91;/img]</a>

Then the reward for all that work.
http://<a href="http://s963.photobuc...&#91;/img]</a>

This is the rock that took out my steering stabilizer that I did not know at the time.
http://<a href="http://s963.photobuc...&#91;/img]</a>

This is one of the cambins that had supplies in it and contaminated mice. Thats what the sign says.
http://<a href="http://s963.photobuc...&#91;/img]</a>

This is on the 103 on the way out and I just like it.
