Last minute trip
Last minute trip to Anza Borrego, anyone want to go?
Wife and I want to leave 'O' dark 30 Saturday and come back oh say Monday night or Tuesday. feel free to post up or PM me. Would love to have others to explore with.
Anyone that wants to share past trips or general knowledge would be helpful, please post. We have never been to Anza-B.
this is the sort of thing that happens when you buy books about places of interest. (The Anza-Borrego Desert Region 5th ED. by Lowell&Diana Lindsay).

You can fit for the first couple miles then you'll have to turn around. It's so beautiful in there. I would even walk some of it after i couldn't make it in any further.

I'm also heading out to Anza Borrego next week sometime for some R&R..with the dualsports..
My buddy is out there already and says it's sand stormy currently. Hopefully the winds will die down next week. The temperature is getting nicer.. real nice early mornings and evenings but gets windy in the afternoon.
Might want to Google up (GoogleEarth) some major road trails and things to see that start from highway 86,78, S2, S22:
Poleline road, Shell Reef, Tule Wash, Font's Point, Pumpkin Patch, Gas Dome, Ocotillo area (next to Anza Borrego), Five Palms Spring, Cut Across Trail, Basin Wash, Coyote Canyon, Arroyo Salado, Truckhaven..
That Anza Guide you mentioned is a good resource:
http://books.google.com/books?id=ag2H3k ... lt#PPP1,M1
Found this on youtube of a BorregoFest(to bad they weren't SMB's, I'm going to film my own version in HD this trip)

Sorry guys for the late report. Been a busy few weeks after I got back. I need to get back out there agin already!
Sorry, That wasn't us on the road with the trailers. We have hitch motorcycle carriers..
Here are a few pics of our last trip. This time we were visited by a few interesting critters other then the usually tiny Desert Fox's and baby Colorado Sidewinders...
Moon was out in force that week:
Offloading the DualSport Enduros with the Ultimate MX Carrier (not really ultimate)
Sand on the trails were awesome, here I am on Tarantula Wash, it was like floating, skiing..:
Anza Borrego Badlands:
Near the Area Called Gas Dome - Enduros have Garmin110's to track each other for GPS and a Y connector for MP3 music, total zen bliss riding in the Desert..
Visit from a Tarantula:
Visit from a Scorp:
Camped:
Bumper Shot:
Practicing Climbing hills for Fun:
Always a blast and Sad to Leave:
