Well I prefer the cooler weather but I have to cross Nevada. Even in early July I found snow in Wyoming and Colorado, but August??? Spring around Moab sounds good but I might not be able to make it so I'll wait for the consensus.

Well, I love "the idea" of doing it. As I see where consensus leads you I'll have to decide if I can grab the time to journey west and have time for the rally.

One thing to consider, will the destination allow for 4x2's and Sprinters to come along for all or part of the ride? (or those of us with modest 4x4's and no winches?)

Ideally, yeah it would be suited for anyone in the forum. Maybe a few 4x4 day trips or something. Depends on the destination too, and the interest level.

I'm very interested in a get together. Love to put faces to names.

I'm hoping the timing will fit with our trip to Alaska or Labrador, whichever we finally choose.

If I can voice an opin, I'm all about Moab. White Rim Trail, plus all the other activities available (dirt bikes, mt bikes, white water, etc. etc. etc.). I think a permit is needed for White Rim Trail (or did they do away with that). If so, that's the sort of thing you need to line-up early. Glacier is cool, but more options in Moab for unique off-roading adventures. A big plus for Glacier, of course, is Moose Drool ale

You can count us in too. We're committed to running the Continental Divide and Yellowstone area for the last two weeks of July and the first two of August, otherwise we're ready! Our druthers would be to stay away from places that don't cool down at nite. No A/C and hate generator noise.

We are interested in making the trip as long as we can fit it into our summer schedule. The sooner we come up with a date the more likely we will be able to fit it in.

I don't have anything scheduled that far out. 3rd week of august too late? Kids back in school an issue for anyone? What are prime dates for Moab? What are prime dates for Glacier? ...prime as in less crowded, cooler, whatever.
