So, this seems like your first trip back in the old rig- having done both now which do you prefer, the SMB or your current rig? My money is on you ultimately like the landcruiser/trailer better, but I would like to know if that is the case and why (or why not).

That's scary cause the guy was in the US Army
That's a loaded question because there's no easy way to answer it. It's like comparing apples to oranges. One is outside setup and one is inside contained. But here's a few things of comparison,
The SMB had power and some to spare.
The 80/AT can't get out of their own way.
The SMB sucks on washboard.
The 80/AT kicks butt on washboard.
The SMB kicks butt for bad weather and escaping the elements.
The 80/AT has no real place to hide, just under awnings.
The SMB was 23 feet long and big and bodacious.
The 80/AT is nimble and can navigate through tighter terrain/pivot point.
The SMB has to be packed up to leave camp.
The AT can be left as basecamp.
The bottom line, they're both awesome. I just think the 80 and AT fits us better. I know Yosh still will miss being able to escape the group, heading in to bed for peace and quiet, a place with a restroom, the furnace and a kitchen sink. For me, i spent most my time outside the vehicle so i don't miss the SMB all that much.
Herb, good ol' CA got their money. I just paid taxes on both the rigs again and this time for more than the first time!!! .... oh man don't get me started
Funny, the still sent my registration to me for the SMB if anyone wants to hear how much.... $538.
Emrider, thanks so much man for the kind words.
