Well.... Bozeman 3/4 of the year. I probably win the "Young & Stupid" award- 20 yrs old, was a ChemE major at Montana State, just changed over to Financial Engineering (Engineering risk/risk management) after I decided that for as much as I liked chemistry, it just wasn't making sense. I still have lots to learn, whether it's at school or in the "real world".

The other 1/4 of the year I'm home in Oakland near Montclair/Temescal. Just got done with exams the first week of May, swung down through Yellowstone and GTNP on the way home last week... unfortunately the south gate only opened on the 11th or so. Was hoping to drag my parents down the Beartooth Hwy but I think that is still yet to open on the 24th.

I am sorry to say I am NOT going to drive up Mt Diablo on Saturday morning after all. Heavy Rain. I'm a little extra careful about driving twisty roads in heavy rain. so sorry to bail out.

Yes, I assumed with the weather we'd have to take a rain check. Didn't figure that would happen this late, but mother nature always wins.

Looking at the weather I'd suggest next Saturday, but at least with the weather forecast I'm looking at, it shows a short break early in next week and then nothing but rain all the way through next weekend as well...

Even if the weather for next Saturday is good I likely need to be counted out- have prior arrangements to go up to Grass Valley with a car club.

Is anyone planning to still show up, or should we simply list the meetup date as "TBD" for a Saturday with more accommodating weather?

Erik

Standing in line for a (late) plane in Chicago, was looking forward to getting together tomorrow... I assume we are off, keep the updates coming!

Are people still willing to show up if it's rainy?? I'm sitting on the fence- I suppose if it's more than just 1 or 2 people willing to show up, I'm willing to go... But not sure if I want to pay $30 to get into Mount Diablo on a cloudy and rainy day if I'm the only person who's going to be there...

Realize it's kind of late, but is there a show of hand for who's going to be there whether it's raining or only cloudy, and those who would prefer a later date?

Walnut Creek weather says 90% chance of rain at 11:00 am. The whole point is to get out and walk and talk, I will wait.

I'd vote for cancel; I won't be showing up. Prefer a better date (I might camp up there the night before).

BTW, not sure why it would cost $30 to go up Diablo; they charge extra for dogs or something?
