From Moab? We've got some great backroads books of Utah you can take a look at, have done a few of them, and planning on doing another this trip, are you joining us in Moab? We've done most of hole in the rock road before having to turn around due to rain turning the road to slop. It ends with a spectacular view of lake Powell at the spot the mormons portaged down the cliff side. But that's a one way in/out. We've also done NPS 663 to Hans Flat road from Hite marina on the north end of Powell to green river, you can spur off at horseshoe canyon junction and camp overlooking horseshoe canyon. Difficult trail in spots, high clearance a must, but we saw I think a Subaru bashing through....

Our first couple days in Moab are for relaxing in camp. In a day or two we will begin exploring, but so far it's been amazing. Sadly, as before, I can only post one photo at a time with my IPad.

We started at Nine mile canyon, where there are hundreds of petroglyphs.
