Re: NORRA Mexican 1000

No, we are just taking the main roads and meeting up with the competitors at the end of the "Specials" and not driving down them - although you can if you want to.

This is just a fun excuse to get to Cabo where we are looking for a home.

I'm about 95% committed to join you. When are you leaving San Diego? I'll pm you for more details.

Re: NORRA Mexican 1000

Registration and "Contingency" are Saturday in Mexicali - we will head there in the morning. First stage starts Sunday morning.

We should get so other SMB'ers to join us - it is going to be a fantastic Baja trip.

Re: NORRA Mexican 1000

Sounds like an incredible time. Unfortunately I will not be able to make as we will just be getting back from a trip to Panama (flying not driving). The trickiest part will be navigating all the construction and detours in Mexicali . Have a great time.

We are in the beginning stages of planning a trip down the Pacific side of Baja in early October...

Re: NORRA Mexican 1000

I just got off the phone with Bajasportsmobile. This is going to be some serious fun. Anyone else on the list thinking about doing it?

Edit to include

This trip could cost me a little more than I want to spend. Within the first few minutes of our phone conversation we were already discussing improvements to Gnarvan's suspension. I'm sure after I experience the ride in Bajasportsmobile's ultra plush suspension SMB I'll be ready to make a few changes. That's how it works doesn't it Brent?

Re: NORRA Mexican 1000

Myself and friends will be there, two or three in my class 5 Baja, plus another vehicle or two.
My van will never be in Mexico. And yes I will be buying insurance at the border.
You do not want to get screwed down there.

Should be fun with an amazing array of race vehicles.
I am doing Mikes Sky Ranch the previous weekend...
Don't forget four corners!

Good news. Another PNW member showing up vanless. Keep an eye out for me. We will need to get together for a beverage or two

Re: NORRA Mexican 1000

Are you competing or spectating? Are you going all the way to San Jose del Cabo?

Spectating, BS. My buggy is not race legal completely. Nor am I a racer. I am running and eco tech motor for dependability.
It does handle the whoops at 40-50 mph!!!
I do not believe we are going all the way down to SJ d C (time constraints).
We will be back tuesday and I fly out weds.

If you guys want to swap phone # maybe we can meet somewhere along the way.
My friend has a local solar powered water tank Felipe shack we go to for a nights stay and tequilla (not positive we are staying there).
Amongst camping out.
I have the buggy - they are making the route.

Here is our tentative schedule. Adds or deletes?
