Crafty, I like it.

There's not much to tell. The switch closes a relay that opens the fuel pump circuit, thereby removing power from the pump. It's part of my theft prevention plan and is always used when leaving the van alone, along with an alarm system and steering wheel lock.

Thanks for the great ideas. You guys weren't kidding about things filling way in advance. We're headed out in August, and some stuff is already full, or nearly so.
Made reservations at Ft. Stevens (haven't been there before, looks cool)
Nehalem (Not sure if we've been to the state park, but have hung out on the beach and in town- is the Hawk Cafe still there?)
South Beach (Aquarium)
Ocean Side (Close to Yachats, decided to go with the beach over camping up in the forest at Cape Perpetua)

Cape Blanco is walk-up only, so hopefully that will work out, plus a couple of unbooked nights in between the spots above.

Yes Oregon SP reserve quickly. You can only reserve them nine months in advance so when January 1st rolls around spots go quickly.

Hope you have a good trip.

BTW, check out Sullivan's hiking guide for the OR coast; lots of nice suggestions for walks, about history, lodging, etc. Well worth a read even as just background on the area.

As a CA resident, I'm awed at how much better OR's coastal campgrounds are than CAs. Makes me bow my head in shame. Hope they keep up the good work!

A big thank you to all the people who fund the state park system by purchasing Oregon Lottery tickets.
