Re: Oregon Coast trip report

Probably the biggest highlight of the trip for me was driving on the beach. Ft. Stevens and posted 4x4 only. Threw him into 4 high and went for a drive. FUN!!

Then went to Cape Lookout and camped. We liked Ft. Stevens much better. Didn't get too many photos there but this was a highlight.
Bbq oysters fresh from the ocean. Yum!!

Re: Oregon Coast trip report

Stopped by Local Ocean in New Port for an anniversary lunch. Highly recommend if you are in the area and hungry for fresh seafood.

Re: Oregon Coast trip report

Then we headed further south to Tillicum Beach. My wife giggled all the way there. Please don't ask me to explain.

Eating crab cakes bought earlier in the day from Local Ocean. Just had to fry them up.

Re: Oregon Coast trip report

The next morning, Sarah took the pup on a run and I took the old girl down to the beach for a hike.

This trip was the first time our dogs had seen the ocean. They were confused at first with the taste of the water but quickly figured it out. Their world just got bigger.

Re: Oregon Coast trip report

Overall, we spent five nights in Hercules which was the most to date. Sarah and the dogs were champs. We had great weather considering the Oregon coast in late spring. Hercules ran strong and we had no issues at all with our SMB. More room than we needed for all that we brought.

I do have to admit on our last night of the journey, we pulled into Bend and it was rainy and cold. I deferred to Sarah, and since it was our anniversary trip, she elected to stay at McMenamins. The hot shower and king bed did feel nice I admit.

Re: Oregon Coast trip report

Damn, that made me hungry and I just ate dinner. Nice trip. I do want to get up that way soon. Retirement isn't far off and anything along the coast above California is on the bucket list. Glad you had a good time and thanks for taking the time to post.

BTW I still can't see any pics on the first page of your album.
