Thanks for putting this out there Fitz. I'm hoping to schedule a work trip out there this year and drop by for a day, maybe two. Unfortunately I won't be able to plan/buy tickets in advance.

We were thinking of heading out this year to check it out. Does anyone know if there is a designated camping area for SMB's?

I have not been before, but I believe there is a SMB designated area and that access to it is coordinated through SMB West in Fresno. Hopefully someone with direct experience will clarify.

Yes there is. Make a Rez with SMB West for a spot in the SMB Village and get much nicer dispersed camping that the hoards of regular citizens get. Fun.

In case you want to get to the Expo from New Mexico, I have no affiliation, and no personal experience with this guide, but it seems like an interesting trip. He just happens to live very close to me and I'm on his mailing list.
