Quick NW Trip and Van Shakedown

Took a quick trip from Colorado to Boise to visit some friends and pick up my raft that got repaired. It was also the first shakedown cruise for the new to me van. With basically just a sleeping platform and some flooring it was a far cry from the amenities of my last SMB but it was still comfy.
The van did great and I averaged about 16mpg (7.3L, 285's with 3:55 gears). I do find that I miss having 4:10's and will swap the 3:55's out when I do the Sterling rear end.
The pics are from our side trip to City of Rocks National Preserve.

glad the shakedown trip was uneventful.

was city of rocks busy? we went down 2 years ago this weekend one week after member mkryan visited. he said he was all alone all weekend so we said screw it and decided to go check it out. we missed the last camp spot available by 20 min and had to stay outside the park. place was an absolute madhouse, lol.

I was at City of Rocks two weekends ago. Went down for the day with some family. No camping, just day hikes and lunch. I'd say about 1/3 of the camp sites were occupied plus some climbers that were there for the day.
Hope you enjoyed the maiden voyage Saline.
