Re: Three days and two nights in Baja - you are invited!

If it weren't for the 1800 miles from Portland.... I'd be there. Haven't been to Ensenada since silly college days way back when.

That's a great itinerary! We did it a couple years ago, except in reverse.

We are interested... just gotta check the work calendar.

We are planning Whales and surfing in February.

And I'll hopefully be giving you a call in the next week or so...

If it's only us, can we find some real trails? Not a ton, just a couple that need hubs engaged!

I should be able to cruise down...

Ojos Negos through Tres Hermanos to Uruapan on the old race course would be challenging and fun. I did it last summer in my unsuspecting Realtor's stock Toyota Sequoia - got held up by a Land Rover club (8 vehicles) who kept getting spotters out to get through the bad areas. They took some strange lines and then watched as I cruised through without even getting out to walk them, totally different line on the downhill side of the the road cut. It feels safer against the uphill side...

I'm not sure how the vans would handle some of the off camber side hills, but we can find out if the group is up for the challenge.

Right now we are planning on keeping it simple enough for a 2wd to come have some fun.

I've got a couple of "I'll go if more people go" safety in numbers folks still thinking of going, but Baja is just outside their comfort zone.

This is the perfect trip for them, and they will be hooked!

Wish I could join you. Baja is a great place! With any luck I'll be somewhere in Baja the third week in October.

We'd love to have you join us again. Baja 1000 prerunning is late October but then race is not going into Baja Sur this year.

Re: Three days and two nights in Baja - you are invited!

Man, I wish I could do this. I bought my sportsmobile a year ago last week and have been dreaming of Baja ever since. I live in the van with my girlfriend and I cant convince her that it is safe. This would have been the perfect intro. She says she will go if we find some other people who have been before to tag along with. Unfortunately we just drove east a few days ago and will be here for business through mid january. We are still trying to figure out where we are going to go for the end of Jan until work picks up again in mid may. I would love to tag along on any trips to Baja during that time.
