Re: Road Trip - Mississippi Gulf Coast

Been camping in The Mud Hippie since Thursday of last week. The hot rods, antiques and rat rods are coming in by the droves. I'm set up on the beach with base camp.

Brought a few bikes to join in the Cruisen event.

Bean're (well known biker event MC and writer for several biker magazines), came in earlier and looking forward to seeing Marc & Christine (twogone), this afternoon.

Re: Road Trip - Mississippi Gulf Coast

Marc & Christine made it down. We have had a blast. Literally thousands of hot rods, antiques, rat rods and of course only TWO 4x4 vans!

We got some good nights sleep and ready to start a full day of fine automobiles.

Re: Road Trip - Mississippi Gulf Coast

While there maybe only two vans this year there may be more next, who knows maybe even one from CA. (maybe by then the one I'm thinking of will be 4x4 and have a pop top too)

So are we going to get a video of all the cool cars and bikes? Please post some teaser pictures, maybe the best of the best....

Have fun tomorrow...

Re: Road Trip - Mississippi Gulf Coast

WHAT A DANG BLAST! I can safely say this is the best car show, and, car show format that I have ever even heard of, much less been to. Chop et al, and Christine and I saw somewhere WAAAyy past 10,000 amazing automobiles, and they are all rolling, not just sitting. The scene is simply indescribable, even for a long-winded deeesciber like me.

I am not gonna ramble and rant and brag and exclaim about this thing anymore, but you can know that we will be there next year. We'll get a video up on TGTBT as soon as possible, but gotta dig out from this life-changing event and do regular ol' work for as while first!

As for teaser pix, please wait, as the "best of the best" still shots will be rolled into the film. Just for a fun comparison: the most total raw footage we've ever taken in one outing for one of our films is about 90 mins (over 3 week period)... and not one still pic. In just two days, we did more than three hours of filming and 300 stills... this frikkin car show is just insane!

Finally, Christine and I want to say a massive to Chop for getting us fabulously sited and being the best host possible. It ain't SMB material, but I'll say here, he has the coolest quartet of custom, homebuilt bikes you'll ever see. And, his van is a true traffic-stopper. Looking forward to the film! (don't post pix yet, Chop!!)

DON'T listen to him Chop!

Post a few teaser photos. As a matter of fact if you have any pictures of Marc and Christine in some kind of foolish position I think you need to post those first. I say that because Marc is being a little selfish here.

Ain't no reason I can see to tease us like that.

Re: Road Trip - Mississippi Gulf Coast

Bring on the pictures. And tell me the dates of the event next year. I have several clients in the area so maybe I can get them to book some business with me around that time. SMB trips are always better when someone else pays for it.

Re: Road Trip - Mississippi Gulf Coast

It was a great time. Over 6,000 registered vehicles and that wasn't half of em. Brought in over $20 Million to the State of Mississippi. That should give you a good idea how big this thing is. Police are fairly lax. You could see burnouts, swap meets, auctions, live bands, car shows, etc. Like Marc said, we prefer to just camp on the side of the beach front highway and take in the moving antiques, hot rods and rat rods. We were the ONLY 2 4x4 vans in the thousands of vehicles. I sent my disc of all the cars and video's to Christine for her filming needs. I'm sure the video will be awesome. Sure enjoyed having Marc & Christine down. Maybe we can get some reinforcements next year in the van category. We might have been few, but we were definitely represented!
