Sayulita MX ???

Got a wild hair up our butts and think we might want to stay in the van in Sayulita MX next February at one of the local RV parks and ride out the worst time of winter. Total MX n00bs so looking to get any input any of you might have. Would take cheaper mountain bikes and a Yamaha 250 for some local travel. Rumor is that some single track has been built in the area so that would be good for some exercise on the MTBs.

Hit Banamichi and/or Alamos on the way down to see some friends.

After that, thought about taking a ferry in March over to Cabo then working our way back north to Durango in time for winter to be over.

Might could be time for some immersion Spanish but at this point, it's still just a wild hair thought but if more than that, we better book soon.

Got any beta on this area?

It's been a long long time since I was in Sayulita. I'd sure like to hear more about staying there in a van.

I used to live down there. Cool spot. Sayulita is busy and can be a little sketchy and I would not recommend sleeping in your van in "town". A little known gem that is about 15 minutes north is called Lo De Marcos. Safe spot, small pueblo, nice beach, good fishing, and if there is long period swell from the South there is a decent left hand point there too.

I would recommend posting up in Lo De Marcos and then riding your moto to go explore Sayulita and beyond.

Waves to be found at Punta Mita and again on long period south swell there are a few spots north of Lo De Marcos. Chicala being the best wave in the region.

PM me if you want any specific info on the area!

I got turned on to Lo De Marcos on a motorcycle forum and it looks like a lot better place to be. We will check it out further.
