Re: Sierra's 2012

The third day we had breakfast at Lake Sabrina and took a short boat ride around it. Around noon we headed up to the Coyote Flats area for the night.

Long but spectacular drive. A lot of the drive we were only doing a few miles an hour.

Re: Sierra's 2012

The Coyote Valley Road looks promising. Think there would be any problem towing a trailer up that road?

Re: Sierra's 2012

Thanks all for the kinds words on the photography!

Herb, I saw a few people up there with Jeep's etc with trailers. I think it would be much easier for a setup like yours. The van was tight in a lot of places.

There is a huge area to explore up the road and the views were endless. We had some logistics issues within our group that prevented us from exploring more but our next trip up we will spend a few days.

Thanks Brent. I was thinking about driving up there with my Excursion (towing my trailer), so if it was tight with your van, it would be tight with the Ex. Still it looks very interesting.

Re: Sierra's 2012

If the Ex is the same or smaller in width you will have no problems making it. I did scrape the sides everywhere I went on this trip with tree branches.

Some locals told us the Coyote Flats area was created for high altitude landing and take off testing for the military. The landing strip was turned back to nature and we never saw it but the views up there are spectacular. I would spend 2-3 days up there next time.
