Re: SMB Group Meeting - Grand Canyon

Mike:

I will try to join you at Zion for the night of Oct 17th. I have an appointment in the morning but will leave after it. I should arrive around 4:00pm. Then, if I can, I will go to the North Rim with you for Thursday night (maybe Friday too).

All of this is tentative as I am in the process of selling my home. Lots to do this month taking care of that.

Hope to see you soon.

Mac

Wish me luck an cool weather.

Hey Mike,
First off, Happy Birthday!!

Have a great hike. Let us know how you do. That is pretty ambitious doing it in a day.

Enjoy,

steve

Re: SMB Group Meeting - Grand Canyon

Enjoyed a couple of days with Mike at Zion. The weather was perfect and the scenery gorgeous. When I asked Mike if he was going to post pictures on the Forum of his trip he said people didn't want to see pictures of "the same ol' places." Since I do like seeing pictures of the same places, I thought I'd post a few here.

Here's my rig with Mike's SMB and trailer in the background.

The beautiful scenery.

Mike ready to get on bus to take us to hike to Emerald Pools.

I met a couple of ladies who just bought a 2008 SMB and were on their first trip. I told them about the Forum. But I forgot to take a picture of their van. However, I took a couple of pictures of other SMB-like rigs in the campground.

Packed up and saying goodbye before I head back home.

Re: SMB Group Meeting - Grand Canyon

Gotta love off season visits, much more relaxing.

Nice to see the pics, even if I've been there.

Re: SMB Group Meeting - Grand Canyon

I think that green Ford van conversion has a Colorado Camper Van pop top on it.

I have to think that green and purple mini van conversion is painted that way so no one would ever be tempted to steal it.

My odometer reading. Yep, that's the actual miles on my 2002 SMB. I think I need to get out more often.

Re: SMB Group Meeting - Grand Canyon

Yeah, if only I could take real pictures instead of blurry ones. My hand shakes too much.
