Since I grew up there, hopefully I will re-acclimate and be able to tolerate the cold once again.

We hate to leave the many unexplored places in this area --Anza Borrego being one of them -- but we are looking forward to taking our SMB to new places in Wyoming. And we will miss our association with the fine folks we've met at Meet and Greets in California, Nevada, Utah and Arizona. Hopefully we will be able to join up with you good folks some time in the future.

Have a great time at Anza. It sounds like it's going to be wonderful. Take lots of pictures.
That stinks you can't make it. Hope to meet u at some point.

I'm advocating this run with Mission Control. She seems okay with 5hr drive from Phx. Is this a kids/dog approved meetup?

Heck, I've got both, so I'd hope so. Not bringing both, however. Jeffrey might have issues. Beware.

Hey, I resemble that remark!

I do like children, if they're prepared properly.

Re: So Cal SMB winter meet up 2012

So what's the planned turn out? I was actually planning on showing up Thursday the 6th to make the trip a little more worthwhile, but I now have to be in the D.C. area the 3rd - 7th. So now I'm thinking that if I can make it home soon enough on the 7th, I can run down to the meet up and then maybe extend the trip through the 10th (Monday). Of course it's all dependent on my being able to get packed and squared away before I leave for DC.

Anyone else extending their camping?

Plan is meeting up at Fish Creek camp area. If there's any sign of precipitation on Thursday night we will meet at Little Blair instead.

Maybe you and Tapatio need to do a PH spring clinic at the meetup?

Is the Fish Creek dry bed trail marked as you pull off of Split Mountain Road?

I don't have a CB or Ham radio in my Excursion or teardrop, but I do have an FRS radio. We should pick a standard CB channel, Ham frequency, and FRS channel for comms.

That lat long in post #1 is wrong, unless you're camping in the mine.

Try 33.023260, -116.110886; I got that from what looks like the camp in the sat view on Google Maps.
